Kotaro started his career at Proprietary Trading Department of Daiwa Securities SMBC(currently Daiwa Securities). As a senior manager at a boutique management consulting firm, he managed a wide range of consulting projects, such as strategy development, new business creation, business transformation and sales effectiveness management, for variety of clients. He led the establishment and operation of the two joint venture companies with the utilities companies as well. Kotaro received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Tohoku University.
