Kenji Aoki is the Head of Operations. Prior to joining Misaki, he was head of operations at Baring Asset Management Japan and Allianz Global Investors Japan, where he managed investment operations, statutory reporting and product management for discretionary accounts (include pension funds), local investment trust and off-shore funds. Previously, he worked at Toyo Trust and Banking Co., Ltd. (now Mitsubishi UFJ Trust and Banking Corporation) and Shinsei Bank where he engaged in trust operation and product development, etc. Kenji received his B.A. in Law from Meiji University and MBA from University of Maryland.

Takeo is Chief Investment Officer and a member of the Investment Committee. He brings over 25 years of value style equity investment as well as management consultancy experiences. Prior to joining Misaki he managed Global Value Equity portfolios and global research team at AllianceBernstein in London. From 2002 to 2013, Takeo was Director of Research for Japan Value Equities, where he built the firm’s Tokyo research and investment team. Prior to joining AllianceBernstein in 1997 in New York, he worked at Corporate Directions, Inc as a management consultant. Takeo received his B.S. and M.S. in Information Science from the University of Tokyo and MBA from Harvard University and is a CFA charterholder.

Yasutake is the Head of Business Development. Before joining Misaki, he was a Senior Principal at T Capital Partners (former Tokio Marine Capital), a leading Japanese private equity firm, where he led the fundraising and IR activities such as interviews with institutional investors at home and abroad. Previously, he worked at MUFG Bank and Mitsubishi UFJ Securities (now MUMSS) in Tokyo and London, where he engaged in corporate banking, corporate research, and equity underwritings such as IPO and public offering for Japanese blue-chip companies. Yasutake received his B.A. in Law from Gakushuin University and MBA from Hitotsubashi University Business School.

Takemune started his career at Investment Banking Division of Nikko Citigroup (currently Citigroup Global Markets Japan) and experienced variety of domestic & international M&As as well as financing deals. As a Principal at The Boston Consulting Group (BCG), he managed a wide range of consulting projects, such as strategy development, business transformation, organization/governance change management, turnaround and sales force effectiveness management, for variety of clients. Takemune received his B.A. in Economics from The University of Tokyo and MBA from IESE Business School.

Prior to joining Misaki, Akemi worked at Koa Fire & Marine Insurance Co., Ltd.(currently Sompo Japan Insurance Co., Ltd.) and Mizuho Bank. She has been experienced variety of assignment such as short-term investment, accounting, investor relations, and syndicated loan. She has been contributed the efficiency improvement of syndicated loan related operations most recent years in Mizuho Bank. Akemi is a graduate of the Faculty of Foreign Studies, Sophia University.

Hiroaki started his career at Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (Government of Japan) , where he was involved in various corporate system reforms such as taxations, and crisis management including the Fukushima Nuclear Powerplant disaster. After joining the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), he was involved in wide range of strategic planning/transformation projects in financial institutions/telecommunications/public sectors. Hiroaki received his B.A. in law from the University of Tokyo and LL.M from UC Berkeley School of Law.

Following my graduation from university, I have dedicated over 20 years to digital strategy consulting, accumulating significant achievements in capital and growth strategies through the management of multiple startups. At Accenture, as a Managing Director in the strategy group, I focused on executing growth strategies, including new business development and digital transformation. I particularly advanced thought leadership in sustainability and the circular economy.In listed startup companies, I served as a Director and Executive Officer, supporting discontinuous growth through venture capital investments, corporate carve-outs of listed companies, and acquisitions and integrations of private ventures. I have also worked extensively on management sophistication projects using AI and algorithms for domestic private equity fund clients.At Misaki Capital, I have been involved in developing new engagement models and building alliances in the investment and consulting industries to support organizational management. Currently, I serve as an external director for two unlisted companies, invested in by PE funds and venture capitals. Graduate of the School of Human Sciences, Osaka University.

Akihiro is Managing Director responsible for strategic analysis and engagement research of existing and potential portfolio companies. Prior to joining the firm, he was a management consultant and a project manager at A.T. Kearney and Corporate Directions, Inc. bringing almost 10 years of experience in helping clients within manufacturing, telecom, banking and retailing industries. Akihiro received his B.S. in Engineering Science and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering and Science from Kyoto University.

Yasunori is the Representative Director, Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Investment Committee. Prior to co-founding Misaki, he co-founded Asuka Corporate Advisory in April 2005 and successfully built the team, the process, and the track record of a previous engagement fund, the basis of our present investment philosophy. Previously, he worked at Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) and Corporate Directions, Inc. where he rose to the level of partner and built a massive network of corporate, public and academic professionals and brings nearly 20 years of management consultancy experience. Yasunori received his B.A. in Economics from Keio University and MBA from University of California, Berkeley. Kotaro started his career at Proprietary Trading Department of Daiwa Securities SMBC(currently Daiwa Securities). As a senior manager at a boutique management consulting firm, he managed a wide range of consulting projects, such as strategy development, new business creation, business transformation and sales effectiveness management, for variety of clients. He led the establishment and operation of the two joint venture companies with the utilities companies as well. Kotaro received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Tohoku University.

Prior to joining Misaki, she was Operations Manager at Allianz Global Investors Japan and Metzler Asset Management Japan, where she engaged in back office & middle office operations including fund administration, reporting, client services etc. Tomoe received her A.A. in English from Kanagawa Prefectural College of Foreign Studies and B.A in Modern Management from Sanno University.

Shuhei focuses on Portfolio Management and Trading. He joined Misaki in 2020 and has over 12 years’ experience in asset management industry. Before joining Misaki, he was a Fund Manager of Japanese Equity ESG Fund at Kamakura Investment. He managed Quantitative Strategies as a Portfolio Manager at Asset Management One (formerly DLIBJ Asset Management), also Alternative Fund Investment Strategies at Asset Management One USA. Shuhei received his Master of Engineering from Keio University and MBA from Hitotsubashi University.

Prior to joining Misaki, he worked at Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank Limited(SuMi TRUST) and experienced variety of domestic & international business. From 2004 to 2009 he was MD of Hong Kong subsidiary of SuMi TRUST which operates asset management business under the license of HK SFC. He had been responsible for their internal control including regulatory and fund compliance. After coming back to Japan, he was in charge of building and improving BK’s Global Compliance structure as GM of Global Business. Masaru received his B.A. in Law from Chuo University.

After being assigned to a domestic branch office at Sumitomo Trust and Banking Co., Ltd. (currently Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank Limited), he has experience mainly in overseas operations such as Overseas Business Planning Department, Los Angeles Agency, and London Branch. Since then, he has been mainly in charge of risk management and internal management. In 2010, he has been assigned to Internal Audit Department, in 2012 to Risk Management Department at SBI Sumishin Net Bank, Ltd., and then, in 2014 to Credit Supervision Department of Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank Limited. From 2019, he has conducted to enhance management framework and business promotion of overseas investee companies of Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Panasonic Finance. Graduated from Hitotsubashi University Faculty of Economics.

Prior to joining the firm, his work experience includes all back office operations at Sawakami Asset Management and Bayview Asset Management. He brings over 15+ years experience in finance operations and accounting. Yukinori received his B.A. in Economics from Daito Bunka University.
